Wiggins house is a new home situated in the heart of the idyllic beachside village of Sumner, Christchurch.

A narrow site in nature, 10m wide by 50m deep, informed an elongated part single, part two storey home that stretches along the property. The dwelling is broken into four main forms. The steep pitched upper floor level slips over the flat garage street form, creating a strong street presence with vertical timber louvres providing additional privacy.

Once inside, the home unfolds down a central gallery link separating the private and living wing through the placement of a central outdoor courtyard. Nestled within the heart of the home, the courtyard will be a fantastic sheltered evening area. The main outdoor living space spills North of the living wing to enjoy all day sunlight. The light and neutral material palette for this home has been informed by the coastal environment.
